How much should it cost to replace a 2001 Nissan Sentra expansion valve?
Q. Is this even what I should be replacing? I have a 2001 Nissan Sentra that has under 85000 miles and as of this summer the AC has stopped working. Air still blows out, but it is not cool as the compressor is not turning on. If you open the hood and take a listen, you hear no difference from when the AC is on or not. Innitially, I tried using an AC charger kit and obviously that was not the problem. Then I thought that the compressor needed to be replaced, but I think it is much too early for that to go on the car. I brought it to a mechanic that specializes in foreign cars and he said that it was the expansion valve that needed to be replaced and that it would cost $440.00. A. Always get a second opinion, but it really could be that high. Depending on your location (hourly labor charges vary) the labor could be something like $65 and hour. On many cars this valve is located in the dashboard, in a box, connected to the a/c cooling lines. So this basically means, taking the coolant out of the lines with a recovery machine, taking apart the dash (in the area around the glovebox) and taking the part out, replacement of the part, pumping the system down to a vacumn to get any air out, and then refilling the coolant. Why my 2001 Ford escape egr failure and valve blew up on the side?

Before that I had problems with misfire, I replaced two spark plug solenoids and the six plenum gaskets. After that the car was running weaken (without power). I replace the EGR valve, but the problems continue. I found that the tube going from the exhaust manifold to the EGR was extremely hot. What is happening?

A. Well your jeep is equipped with a 8.25 Chrysler rearend and a Dana 30 up front with 355 gear stock. A 33" tire will be ok for a while but will put alot of stress on your transfercase, transmission, axles and u joints and will wear them out quickly. If you wan to stick with the stock gear i wouldnt recommend anything larger than a 31" maybe just maybe a 32", but 31 would probably be your choice because bigger than that will ruin your gas milage VERY BAD. You can clear 31" tires with a 3" lift perfectly and will offroad great. Hope this helps

A. the 2001 Civic LX did not come with the factory keyless entry as standard equipment. It was available as a dealer installed accessory. The easiest way to tell if you have it, provided the original owner didn't lose it is to see if you have a remote transmitter. If you have an oval shaped black key fob with lock and unlock buttons that says "honda" on it, you have keyless. If you don't have the fob it may have been lost but the overwhelming odds are that you don't have keyless entry on it. With patience you can install the factory keyless remote system with little problem. I have the instructions from the one I put on my 2005. They are the same system. A. Possibly the cheapest would probably be an upholstery shop. They'll use aftermarket cloth to make a new cover. Second would be to order the cloth from Jeep. If memory serves, yes, you can just replace the bottom seat cloth. Go to your local dealers parts department and they'll be able to find out what you need. You'll need a set of bull ring pliers and some bull rings. Look on ebay for a package deal. Reupholstering a cloth seat is really not that difficult after you understand how it's done and get a hang of using the bullring pliers.

I checked the 12 volt and the closest model years I founf to 2001 were 1999, and the 2004 one here they are Not sure how close they are to yours, but I'd bet that they are pretty close. usually the stereo system wiring for a generation of cars is the same throughout the whole generation. looking at both of them there are some similarities so hopefully it helps you out
