How does Mt. Fuji affect the lithosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere?
Q. I have to do a powerpoint for school and I need answers quick. How does Mt. Fuji affect the lithosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere? It's really hard for me to research this because Mt. Fuji hasn't erupted since 1707. If you have any answers please tell me.

A. Incidentally, that is a very pathetic attempt at an excuse to get me to do your homework. There are thousands of volcanoes that haven't erupted in a long time, and you can learn all about them. Lithosphere --> Fuji receives magma through the lithosphere. The weight of the mountain presses down on the lithosphere as it searches to reach isostatic equilibrium ("upward force equals downward force") Biosphere --> Lava flows can directly impact habitats, geothermal fluids can make surface waters more acidic, gases (if concentrated enough) can affect plant growth. Hydrosphere --> During eruptions, can release water vapor (as steam) into the atmosphere, which will enter the hydrologic cycle as rain. As mentioned, fluids can chance acidity. … [cont.]

Q. how do volcanoes affect the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere in a negative and positive way?

A. Volcanic eruptions release lots of gases into the atmospheric, some of which pollute the environment and affect the atmospheric content, because the atmosphere consists of various types of gases. The term 'hydrosphere' is a little vague. It can mean anything in relation to water, or the water cycle. Basically, hydrosphere refers to the water found under or over the surface of the Earth. A volcanic eruption discharges pollutants, found in the air, that can pollute water bodies that are located nearby the site of the volcano. If the volcano is situated near a major river or a sea, the water supplies for many people will be affected. The word ' biosphere' can mean many things as well, as long as it is related to the eco-system, and on the… [cont.]

A. The term Geosphere is often used to refer to the densest parts of Earth, which consist mostly of rock and regolith.[1] The term originally applies to the four nested geospheres identified since Meteorology (Aristotle) with the states of terrestrial matter: solid (earth), liquid (water), gas (air), and plasma (fire). The nested geospheres then include the asthenosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and the ionosphere or plasmasphere. The dense geosphere is also subdivided into the crust, mantle, and core. The outer core is unusual in that it is considered to be a liquid, yet it is a part of Earth's interior. In modern texts, geosphere refers to the solid parts of the Earth and is used along with atmosphere, hydrosphere, and… [cont.]

what happens to air that is cooled to the point where it can't hold anymore water?
Q. Please help! Also, how does unequal heating of the earth affect the movement of water in the atmosphere and hydrosphere? Thanks a lot!
Asked by Kaceylynn - Thu Feb 25 21:19:05 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. When air gets too cold too hold water, it precipitates. The unequal heating of the Earth causes air to move in concentric circles that drive most of the cycles on Earth. These concentric circles are responsible for ocean currents, wind, the water cycle, and many other things.

Q. 1.if earth did not have a moon, how would the atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere be affected? 2.scientists have found that the inner planets all have 0,1 or 2 moons. the gas giants have many moons.how can you explain this difference? 3.many scientists believe meteorites impacts have caused mass extinctions in earth's past. explain how an impact event could lead to a mass extinction today. 4.explain how two stars with the same absolute magnitude could have different apparent magnitudes.. please i would appreciate the help, science is not my strongest subject :(
Asked by Maryy - Fri Oct 9 21:41:34 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If earth did not have a moon the tides would be negligible. There would be less beach erosion and the waters near the shore would tend to be more stagnant. There would be less mixing. The easiest way to explain the number of moons is gravity. More massive objects would tend to be more attractive than less massive objects. This attraction might also breed more collisions. The collisions and near misses can result in more fragments which could result in more moons A large, massive object has a great deal of kinetic energy which is forced to appear at single location on the earth if it hits. This vaporizes some of the dirt and in addition throws up huge clouds of dust. All this extra stuff in the atmosphere can temporarily blot… [cont.]

A. 1. four major subsystems called "spheres." --the "lithosphere" (land), "hydrosphere" (water), "biosphere" (living things), and "atmosphere" (air). biota- the total collection of organisms of a geographic region or a time period, from local geographic scales and instantaneous temporal scales all the way up to whole-planet and whole-timescale spatiotemporal scales. The biota of the Earth lives in the biosphere. photosynthesis- the process of converting light energy to chemical energy and storing it in the bonds of sugar. occurs in plants and some algae (Kingdom Protista). Need only light energy, CO2, and H2O to make sugar. I'm betting on D. photosynthesis, which links biological organisms to the air, land, and water. 2. B. 3. the "geo" in… [cont.]
