The Western Conference has been the stronger one the last few years, but this year was supposed to have some more parity with the emergence of LeBron in Cleveland, Wade in Miami, the Big Three in Boston, etc etc. Is the West, though, even stronger than the East than it was last year? Instead of a resurgent East, we've seen the Heat and the Cavs become very sloppy looking, while the Lakers and Hornets have emerged to perhaps contend to elite status with SA, Dallas and Phoenix, and Golden State, Portland and Denver making up a strong second tier. The best proof of the west being better is the amount of teams that have -.600, that doesnt mean that they are worse than last year(for example suns, spurs,mavs) but that there are more better teams than last year! While in the east there is only Boston, Detroit and Orlando who can beat a top 10 western team! So YES the West is even stronger! In all the power rankings, the top 2 is Boston and Detroit but its not hard to have -.700 when you play 4times a year against teams like Miami...
